ELEVEN POSTS in one day!

I have now somewhat caught back up...

Birthday Party #2- Cake

Dawson's first birthday candle!
He isn't even bothering with hands this time!
The aftermath!
Then he decides that the hands get more flavor in his mouth.

He just kept going!

What a fun kid!

Birthday Party #2

Please take note while looking at these pictures of my baby's black eye.  He is really learning to walk.. REALLY!

Here is Bella showing Dawson how cool his toy is! He loves this toy not that he has figured it out.  He contantly makes the pig make its noises.  I wonder if he is trying to say something to me?

Dawson LOVES tissue paper.  He practically dove into this bag because it was so loaded with fun paper.

He would tip over the bag and try to show it really who is the boss.  Finally he opened it and found the wonderful treasure it included!

He loved this present so much.  It had a bow!  He pulled it off and that was all he needed.  He since has really loved that truck that came inside the beautiful package.

You want me to play Baseball?!?  Do you know who my parents are?  I really might need some training.

The party was so fun!  Thanks for all the Barnson side family that came to support Dawson!

Learning to Walk

Dawson is learning to walk.  He is practicing and really working towards walking on his own.

And he's off!  He really seemed to just take off.  He took longer than his cousin, but once he decided he wanted to walk, he didn't wait.

Okay, so he still has some balance issues...

And some speed issues...

And some landing issues.

He is so cute.  I can officially say that he was walking by his first birthday.  He is cruising all over now.  He still will only say DaDa, but I love him anyway.

birthday Party #1- Cake

Dawson was so excited to dig into his cake.  He had a great time and really didn't want to stop.

Get Ready!

Forget the next step let's EAT!

Dawson really loves his cake and really made a good show of the event.

Once he saw that there was a cleaner way to eat the cake, he decided to use that.

He got the frosting ALL over his little body.  He offered me a taste as he really thought I would enjoy it as well.

Birthday Party #1

Dawson had a joint birthday party for the Babcock side on March 21, 2009.  He was just great in keeping everyone involved.  (Everyone had to watch him because he is into everything!)

This is Dawson eating Sadie's food.  He is mobile and will steal what he can get!

The Daddies and the Babies!

Dawson is really getting good at unwrapping presents, but just thinks the paper is the interesting part.  He later discovers the toys.  I guess that is not all bad.

This was such a great present!  He loved to unwrap it and LOVES to play with it.

We were so fortunate to have so many people show their love for Dawson with gifts.  Really we were thrilled to have EVERYONE (that is living in Utah) come to the party.  It is always hard to get that many people together without conflicts.  Thanks everyone!  We had a great time!!

Finger Painting

So in preparation for Dawson getting his birthday cake, I decided we would practice his artistic abilities with some finger paints.

First I gave him the paper...

Then we got some paint... (I don't think he is liking the feeling of the paint on his hands.)

Finally the artistic side comes out!  He is a genius with color usage!

You can see the thoughts racing in his head as to the correct location on the handprint.

And the final decision is...

This is a blast MOM!

He was so cute!  We will have to do it again as he did such a good job the first time.  I think there still may be paint in places I don't know about, but what do you do?!?

Playing with Rockwell

I just thought it was really funny that both boys found the treats in Doug's pocket.

The boys loved playing with this toy.  They pushed each other and eventually decided it was okay to share.

Dave and Sheryl invited us over to have a play date.

Hooded Towel

I spent so much time with Rebecca making this hooded towel and just needed to show how cute my baby is using it.

New Years Eve!

Dawson, Doug and I spent New Years in Las Vegas.  It was a blast!  We had a condo all to ourselves.  My whole family (minus my sister, Laury and fam) was there in different condos that were all on the same level.  It was a blast!  Dawson just couldn't keep up with the fun!

Winter sledding

Dawson had his first sledding experience at the end of December.  He had is own sled (provided by Aunt Julie) that he made everyone pull him around in.  He had a wonderful time.

He wasn't too sure about the event.  He just kinda hung out.  (I wonder it that is simply because he couldn't move!) He was really bundled up.  I didn't want him to get cold.

Dawson and Mommy got on the big tube and decided to go down the hill!  I don't think that you knew what was happening!  I loved being the first to take you down the sledding hill.

We had a blast!  I think it will be a yearly tradition!

Christmas Morning... I know, I know!

Dawson was absolutely darling on Christmas morning.  Granted he just loved making a mess and not getting in trouble.  He loved all his toys and the fun things he got.  I think that next year will really be fun.  He doesn't really sit still to be able to talk about the true meaning of Christmas, so I just read the books and tell the stories and hope it is sinking in.
